Vanessa Zoltan (she/her)
Host
Vanessa is the CEO and co-founder of Not Sorry Productions. She is the host of three of our podcasts: Harry Potter & the Sacred Text, The Real Question, and Hot & Bothered. She founded Common Ground Pilgrimages in order to travel with brilliant faculty to beautiful places and talk about books with amazing pilgrims. She is also the author of the book Praying with Jane Eyre. Vanessa was trained as a non-denominational chaplain at Harvard Divinity School. She worked in education, both as a teacher and in education policy for 10 years before coming to Divinity School.
Hannah McGregor (she/her)
Co-Host, Season 5
Hannah is a professor and podcaster living on the traditional and unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (currently known as Vancouver, British Columbia). She is the co-host of Witch, Please, along with a variety of other scholarly podcasts, including Secret Feminist Agenda and The SpokenWeb Podcast. When she isn't yelling into a microphone about feminism, she's hanging out with her two extremely bad cats, Al Purrdy and Pancakes.
Hannah Rehak (she/her)
Guest Host, Season 5
Hannah Rehak is a comedy writer, filmmaker and podcast producer. She is a proud Chicago Public Schools and Macalester College alum with a background in critical race theory and media and cultural studies. She is the Executive Producer at Witch, Please Productions, and in her free time, Hannah can be found doing improv, directing short films or rearranging her furniture.
Lauren Sandler (she/they)
Co-Host, Seasons 3-4
Lauren Sandler is a journalist and author. Her most recent book is This Is All I Got: A New Mother’s Search for Home, a 2020 New York Times Notable Book. Sandler’s journalism has appeared in dozens of publications including Time, The New York Times, Slate, The Atlantic, The Guardian, and New York. She has been on staff at Salon and NPR, a columnist at HuffPost, and has led OpEd Project fellowships at Yale, Columbia, Dartmouth, and the University of Virginia. She lives in Brooklyn.
Julia Argy (she/her)
Co-Host, Seasons 1-2
Julia Argy is a writer from Massachusetts. Her debut novel, The One, was published by Putnam in April, 2023. She graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Statistics, and from the University of Michigan’s Helen Zell Writers’ Program with an MFA in Fiction. She works as the Director of Pilgrimages at Common Ground Pilgrimages.
